About The Empty Threats
The Empty Threats are a five-piece queer post-punk/noise-rock band from Kaurna Land (Adelaide, South Australia). They blend modern post-punk with 80s Australiana, channeling political convictions and lived experiences, as heard in their singles “Boys in the Gutter” and “ATACB” from their debut album, Monster Truck Mondays.
Known for their electrifying live performances, reminiscent of bands like Midnight Oil and The Rolling Stones, The Empty Threats have played notable events such as WOMAD 2022, the Adelaide 500 supporting Jimmy Barnes, and gigs alongside contemporaries like Methyl Ethel, Mildlife, Teen Jesus & the Jean Teasers, A. Swayze & the Ghosts, and Babe Rainbow.
With Monster Truck Mondays, their biggest tour yet in 2023, an appearance at Yours & Owls, and a European tour in 2024, The Empty Threats are poised for a thrilling journey ahead.
